Privacy Policy
treba · last updated 1 July 2026
This policy explains what data the treba task planner (the web app at treba.space and the Android/iOS apps, together “treba”, “we”) collects, how it is used, and your choices. treba is operated by treba.
What we collect
- Account identity (from Telegram). When you sign in with Telegram we receive your Telegram user ID, first name, username (if you have one) and language code. We do not collect your email address, phone number, or a password.
- Your content. The tasks, checklists, ideas, categories, notes, deadlines, priorities, tags, reminders and any images you attach.
- Your settings. Timezone, interface language, digest times, quiet hours and plan.
- Friends & social graph. If you use the optional Friends feature, we store who
you add as a friend (the friendship link between two accounts) and, so a friend can be found,
resolve a Telegram
@usernameyou type in. We do not import your contacts or address book. - Product-usage events. To see how the product is used — activation, retention and which features matter — so we can improve treba, we record pseudonymous events such as signing up, logging in, linking the bot, creating or completing a task, sending or accepting a category invite, sending or accepting a friend request, viewing the friends leaderboard, nudging a friend, and using an AI feature. Each event stores only an internal account ID (not your Telegram ID), a short label (for example the surface “web” or “bot”), and a timestamp. We never record your task titles, descriptions, message text or voice transcripts in these events. They are first-party (no third-party analytics SDK) and are deleted when you delete your account.
- A session token so you stay signed in — stored in your browser (an httpOnly cookie) on the web, or in the operating system’s secure storage in the mobile app. We do not use advertising identifiers, location, contacts, or third-party analytics/tracking SDKs.
How we use it
- To provide the service: store and show your tasks, and send reminders and the daily digest through the treba Telegram bot.
- Optional AI features. When you use “AI plan” or “Summary”, the relevant task text is sent to Anthropic (the Claude API) to generate the result. Natural-language and voice capture in the Telegram bot send your message text to Anthropic and voice audio to Groq for transcription. These providers process the data only to return the result on our behalf and, under their API terms, do not use it to train their models. We do not log AI prompts or outputs beyond short-lived diagnostics.
- Friends & leaderboards (optional). When you add a friend, the two of you can see each other’s aggregate productivity numbers — your current and longest streak, how many tasks you completed (today / this week / this month / all-time) and your weekly focus minutes — and each other’s display name on a friends-only weekly leaderboard. We never show a friend your task titles, descriptions, category names, deadlines or any other content — only those counts. You can hide your numbers from friends at any time with ghost mode (Settings → Friends & leaderboard) and remove a friend at any time. Sending a friend request or a “nudge” (encouragement) delivers your display name to that person, in the app and — if they use it — through the Telegram bot.
Sharing
We do not sell your data, do not share it with data brokers, and do not use it for advertising. Data is processed only by the sub-processors needed to run the service — our hosting provider, and (for the optional AI/voice features above) Anthropic and Groq.
Sharing with people you choose. Two optional, opt-in features let you share limited data with other treba users at your own initiative: shared categories (people you invite can see and edit the tasks in that specific category) and friends (accepted friends see your aggregate stats and display name as described above — never your task content). You choose who gets access and can revoke it at any time. We do not otherwise make your data visible to other users.
Retention & deletion
We keep your data until you delete your account. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app, or follow the steps at treba.space/delete-account.html. Deletion is immediate and permanent — it removes your account and all tasks, categories, reminders, tags, attachments, usage events and settings from our systems and cannot be undone. You can export a copy of your data first from Settings.
Security
All traffic between the apps and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
Children
treba is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country).
Changes
We may update this policy; we will revise the date above when we do.
